THE Bureau of Internal Revenue offered a P500,000 reward to anyone who can provide information that will lead to the capture of the killer of a revenue district officer who was shot dead last month.
Commissioner Kim Jacinto-Henares said that BIR officials and personnel had raised funds for the speedy resolution of the brutal killing of RDO Marcelino Yap.
However, the BIR chief clarified that the cash reward will only be given if the suspect is arrested alive.
Yap was about to enter the premises of his office in Marikina City on February 17 when a motorcycle-riding gunman shot him.
The owner of the motorcycle used in the crime has already been identified by Yap’s driver.
Police have launched a manhunt for the suspect.
“The amount we are giving may not be that considerable but we hope it will help in any way not only the family of our fallen colleague but also in the capture of the culprit,” Jacinto-Henares said.
She condemned the killing of Yap and expressed hope that his assailant will land in jail soon.
